Nudge Security is TWO years old this month 🎂

To celebrate our second birthday, we're reflecting on our journey—and all the new features we've added to help customers scale SaaS security and governance.

Welp, it’s been a mind-boggling two years since we launched Nudge Security. And as we always say, time flies when you’re building a new model of IT governance for the cloud-native world.

‍

To celebrate our anniversary month, we’re reflecting on our second year, which was marked by some pretty groundbreaking product developments. And we’ve also got a sweet promo offer for new customers: purchase Nudge Security before the end of 2024, and we’ll give you one month for free. To get started, launch your free trial or book a call with us.

‍

😎 The coolest features we launched this year

If you subscribe to our changelog, you know that we release product enhancements and new features on a near-weekly basis. Building upon our unrivaled approach to SaaS discovery and inventory, we’ve rolled out dozens of dashboards, workflows, playbooks, notifications, and nudges over the past year to help streamline and automate SaaS security and governance.

‍

Here are five of our favorites:

  1. Assess SaaS spend, security, and usage insights in our “Spend” dashboard. This one is a customer favorite, for good reason: Our powerful dashboard automatically surfaces inactive and abandoned accounts associated with paid apps, so you can reclaim costly licenses. And from the dashboard, you can even run an automated playbook to help you orchestrate account removals by enlisting app owners across the business, so you can scale SaaS governance efforts without drowning in manual tasks.
  2. De-risk your critical identity infrastructure with our SSPM capabilities. With the launch of our SSPM capabilities for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, customers can continually monitor their identity infrastructure for critical misconfigurations and risks related to users, groups, and integrations. By avoiding the limitations of traditional SSPM and leveraging our patented approach to SaaS discovery, Nudge Security offers near-immediate time to value with every setup.
  3. Accelerate vendor risk assessments with thousands of SaaS vendor security profiles. To date, Nudge Security has profiled over 100,000 unique SaaS apps. This year, we unlocked our SaaS security database, so customers can quickly vet SaaS providers before or after they show up in their environment. Now, when you search for apps your organization isn’t using (yet), you’ll be able to access security profiles that help you make faster, better decisions about whether they meet your corporate guidelines.
  4. Track your impact and progress against SaaS security best practices with our high-level dashboard. Security and IT teams are usually spread thin, which means it’s critical to focus on the highest-impact projects. This dashboard allows you to measure key metrics that form the backbone of SaaS security posture management. We want to make it dead-simple for you to visualize the progress you’re making toward your goals, prioritize the highest-impact work, and share results. ‍
  5. Discover and secure AI adoption with our AI dashboard. Since July 2023, the number of GenAI applications we’ve discovered and analyzed within customer environments has grown from 75 to 847. In the face of this unrelenting trend, our AI dashboard helps you visualize and understand AI usage within your organization, including what apps are gaining traction and which employees and business units are using AI the most. We even surface supply chain data to help you understand which of your SaaS providers are leveraging AI in their software supply chains as well as which AI tools have been connected to other apps. and what scopes have been granted.

đŸ€— Our favorite customers

Over the last two years, we’ve had the great fortune of working with some of the most forward-thinking IT and security leaders.

‍

One such partner is Stravito’s Head of Security, Marcus Södervall, who deployed Nudge with hopes of expanding Stravito’s SaaS security program while cutting costs and improving employee engagement. “Nudge Security fills a unique and valuable role within Stravito’s security program,” says Marcus. “It complements the rest of our security stack by giving us the visibility and automation we need to manage SaaS security at scale.”

We’ve also had the pleasure of working with the team at GLAAD. A high-profile LGBTQ advocacy organization, GLAAD regularly faces targeted threats. “Every day is a threat to our organization. Every day we get hundreds of hate emails,” explains Leo C. a member of GLAAD’s IT team. “My role is to make sure that my staff is protected so they can go save the world.” Needless to say, this is the kind of partnership we find deeply gratifying.

We've also been honored with kind words in product reviews shared by our customers, including commentary on some of our most recent product additions. As one reviewer recently wrote, ”We knew we needed to investigate and reel in our shadow IT and SaaS sprawl. Combine that issue with compliance needs and the ongoing need to control and reduce costs whenever possible, Nudge was a no-brainer." If you’re one of our reviewers or referrers—thank you. We’re grateful for your support.

🎂 Time to blow out TWO candles.

The days may be long in the life of a startup, but the years are short. Indeed, the whirlwind years continue for Nudge Security, and we are full of gratitude for everyone who has been a part of these past two years. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
